Licensed Surveyor RPLS

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Surveyor RPLS to join our team at Huitt-Zollars. As a Licensed Surveyor RPLS, you will be responsible for managing survey staff, providing project management and technical oversight, and maintaining all instruments and measuring devices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support a team of senior survey party chiefs and chain/rod men assistants
• Provide project management and technical oversight for topographic mapping, platting, boundary, ALTA, and construction staking efforts
• Manage and maintain all instruments and measuring devices, including drones, scanners, levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment, Trimble Business Center, and data collectors
• Perform drone ortho-image and topographic surveys
• Mentor and train survey staff and provide QC mentorship
• Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of staff vehicles, tools, and equipment
• May assist in preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software

Requirements:

• RPLS licensure in New Mexico with 5+ years of experience or ability to obtain NM licensure
• BS Surveying ABET accredited
• Working knowledge of surveying
• Highly motivated
• Ability to work well in a team environment and manage 4-5 survey crews performing topo, boundary, and construction staking
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS equipment, TSC3 data collectors, and digital levels, and other related equipment
• Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, type/key-in data
• May lift and carry up to 50 pounds, hike up and down steep slopes carrying up to 50 pounds of survey equipment
• The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
• Employee may be asked to walk on uneven terrain
• May work in extreme weather conditions
• Bend, squat, dig monument holes, pound in stakes and rebar monuments
• Carry and use brush cutting equipment
• May drive survey vehicle
