Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and terms with suppliers to procure necessary items.
  • Verify and issue pricing on purchase orders based on project specifications.
  • Oversee purchase orders, ensuring precise tracking and timely follow-up as required.
  • Develop and sustain robust relationships with internal departments and suppliers.
  • Confirm vendor acknowledgments and guarantee timely deliveries.
  • Proactively address and resolve issues related to back orders and returns.
  • Expedite orders in urgent situations.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to address quantity, quality, and shipping concerns.
  • Research and assess new vendor sources to enhance cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Engage actively in meetings, training, and workshops to improve job performance.
  • Respond to inquiries from staff regarding purchasing processes and order statuses.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records and documentation.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in purchasing, preferably within the plumbing or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving cost reductions and building strong supplier partnerships.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in inventory and sales trend analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and Fishbowl inventory management software.
