Specialized Experience Requirements:
For the GS-14 level, candidates must possess one year of experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent, directly related to the responsibilities of this position. This includes:

  • Preparation of comprehensive financial statements.
  • Conducting accounting period closeouts (quarterly or annually).
  • Analyzing financial operations to identify discrepancies.

For the GS-13 level, candidates must have one year of experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent, with similar responsibilities as mentioned above:

  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports.
  • Supporting accounting period closeouts.
  • Conducting financial operations analysis.

Experience Consideration:
Relevant experience may be gained in public, private, or volunteer sectors. Note that one year of experience is considered full-time work; part-time work will be evaluated on a prorated basis.

Time-in-Grade Requirement:
Applicants must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:

  • For GS-14: Must have served at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
  • For GS-13: Must have served at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.

Competitive Appointment Consideration:
Current Federal employees on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have completed at least three months in that role.
