Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accounting Manager to join our team This role will oversee financial processes, including AP, payroll, and grants administration, as well as month-end close, journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and cost allocations
About You
You have 5+ years of relevant accounting experience; prior supervisory/leadership responsibility is a plus Knowledge of non-profit and/or government accounting, with a focus on grant management, is also required Proficiency in cloud-based accounting systems (Sage Intaact or similar) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills are necessary Strong communication and presentation skills, with proven ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial staff, are essential Deadline-driven with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities, you are a strong problem solver and decision-maker
Your Responsibilities
- Supervise AP, payroll, and grants administration, including reviewing and approving transactions, invoicing, cost allowability, and reporting to funders
- Oversee month-end close, including journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and cost allocations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards
- Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial processes and ensure internal controls are in place for compliance
- Support audit processes and collaborate with the Director of Finance to implement financial policies, budgeting, and projections across various funding sources
- Manage one direct report and guide staff through financial procedures, fostering professional development and team growth
