Senior Accounts Payable Accountant Job Description

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and excellent written and verbal communication skills. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for preparing monthly invoices, updating and maintaining accounting records, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly invoices to funders, ensuring account receivables are coded correctly and accurately
- Update and maintain accounting journals and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, and accounts payable)
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and revenue accounts for a complex non-profit organization
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies
- Assist with monthly/year-end closing and annual audit prep materials and research
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP), and a general understanding of banking procedures and related activities
- Understanding of non-profit/restricted fund accounting a plus
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
