Position Summary

This role involves evaluating applications, inspections, and endorsement requests to assess the eligibility of properties or coverage requests in accordance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze exterior inspection reports, new business submissions, risk alerts, and follow-up tasks on accounts requiring further underwriting review.
  • Assess requests for cancellation/nonrenewal actions, reinstatement requests, and endorsements for compliance.
  • Interpret manuals and contracts across various lines of business in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Conduct research and accurately input information into the company’s policy administration system.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Meet established productivity and quality benchmarks.
  • Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned.


Essential Functions

  • Support internal service associates via phone and email with exception requests beyond their authority.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills, assess risks, and make informed decisions.
  • Assist agents with new business exception requests through phone and email.
  • Provide constructive feedback on submissions and documentation required for applications or endorsements to meet company standards.
  • Maintain and obtain necessary Property & Casualty insurance licensing through the appropriate regulatory bodies.


Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in agency or underwriting roles within the property and casualty insurance sector.
  • Possession of a FL resident 2-20 or 20-44 license, along with reciprocal licenses in all 50 states.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the underwriting process and associated analytics.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with various systems.
  • A college degree is preferred.


Physical Requirements

This position requires regular communication and interaction. Employees may frequently need to stand, walk, type, handle materials, and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

This role is based in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
