Job Overview

At Slide, we're revolutionizing the property insurance industry by embracing innovation and disruption. As an Underwriting Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in our fast-paced environment, contributing to the development of cutting-edge solutions and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process new business quote submissions, ensuring accurate pricing and risk selection within authority limits.
  • Order inspection reports and draft recommendation letters to support underwriting decisions.
  • Issue notices for nonrenewal, cancellation, and reinstatement, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely communication.
  • Follow up with agents for outstanding requirements, fostering strong relationships and driving business growth.
  • Process change requests for coverage modifications, policy updates, and cancellations within authority limits.
  • Participate in system testing related to underwriting, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Assist with agency and customer communications, providing exceptional service and support via phone, email, and other approved methods.
  • Monitor email boxes for communications from agents and customers, responding promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry of policy files, maintaining high-quality records and adhering to company standards.
  • Identify and escalate complex issues to leadership for resolution, ensuring prompt attention and effective problem-solving.
  • Maintain records according to company standards, ensuring procedures are properly followed and information is accurately documented.
  • Ensure QA metrics are met regarding client satisfaction and call management, driving continuous improvement and excellence.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required; 1+ years' experience in commercial agency or underwriting department preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with proven ability to adapt to new requirements and unforeseen issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to professionally interact with customers and team members in other departments.
  • Proficient in MSO/365 applications, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability and desire to obtain an active 4-40 license, with a strong commitment to Slide's Core Values.
