Position Overview
As an Environmental Compliance Advisor, you will play a crucial role in the Environmental Division, ensuring adherence to environmental standards and regulations. Your expertise will contribute to the effective management of environmental programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Program Development**: Update and refine program instructions or guidance to align with current environmental standards.
2. **Assessment Issuance**: Conduct and issue comprehensive assessments for environmental programs and projects.
3. **Policy Support**: Provide essential support to ensure compliance with environmental policies and regulations.
4. **Equipment Maintenance**: Assist in the upkeep of monitoring equipment necessary for environmental programs.
5. **Document Review**: Review technical work documents to validate adherence to environmental requirements before project initiation.
6. **Coordination**: Facilitate visits from contractors and agency representatives for information sharing and inspections.
7. **Record Keeping**: Ensure meticulous record keeping and compliance with established requirements.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate relevant experience and education:

**GS-11 Level**: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09, focusing on executing environmental protection programs and collaborating on environmental requirements.

**GS-09 Level**: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07, including conducting environmental compliance inspections and advising on environmental stewardship.

Education Requirements
In lieu of experience, candidates may qualify through education:

**GS-11 Level**: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three years of progressively higher-level graduate education.

**GS-09 Level**: Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree, or two years of progressively higher-level graduate education.

Additional Information
This position may require working uncommon hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Exposure to high noise levels is expected. Candidates selected below the full performance level may be eligible for noncompetitive promotion upon meeting regulatory requirements.
