Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled School Health Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide assessment, screening, planning, intervention, evaluation, counseling, management and/or referrals concerning the health and medical care needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, parents, school district staff and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care for students.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive school health program.
  • Collect information about the health development status of students for compliance with state immunization regulations and Board of Education policies.
  • Conduct school programs of immunization, physical examinations, and sight and hearing testing.
  • Perform nursing assessments for students who are ill or injured; apply appropriate theory as a basis for providing first aid, nursing care, intervention and referrals for those students.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where you are applying.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
