Safety and Violence Prevention Program Manager

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Workplace Violence Prevention Coordinator to collaborate with key personnel in the Medical Center and Department of Safety and Security. This role is essential in formulating and implementing strategies aimed at identifying, assessing, preventing, de-escalating, and recovering from incidents of workplace violence.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Violence Prevention Committee and various Medical Center committees to develop comprehensive policies, procedures, training, and resources focused on the prevention, recognition, response, de-escalation, and reporting of workplace violence incidents.
- Design clinical strategies to mitigate injuries resulting from spontaneous or affective violence linked to medical conditions.
- Report escalating or targeted threats of violence to the appropriate assessment office.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all case management actions.
- Refer affected individuals to support services as needed.
- Analyze annual data in partnership with critical stakeholders, providing recommendations for enhancements in processes, safety, and resources.
- Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies regarding workplace violence prevention standards.
- Participate in or lead various committees focused on violence prevention initiatives.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Position Compensation Range: $73,000 - $117,520.00 Annual
Minimum QualificationsEducation: Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years in workplace violence prevention, including investigation, intervention, and case management of threatening or aggressive behaviors. Preferred experience includes developing a workplace violence prevention program within a large healthcare setting and supervisory experience.
Licensure: Must be a licensed mental health professional or a Registered Nurse.
Physical DemandsThis role primarily involves sedentary work with extensive use of a computer and phone.
