Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced educator to join our team as a part-time affiliate faculty member in the Department of Secondary Education, K-12 Education and Educational Technology at Metropolitan State University of Denver. The successful candidate will teach courses in Secondary Education, including foundations of educational psychology and philosophy, multicultural education, classroom management, planning and assessment, and supervise field experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 1-9 credit hours per semester and be available for consultation with students.
  • Deliver course content to students, prepare course materials and lesson plans, grade student work, and provide students with robust feedback in a timely manner.
  • Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
  • Advise and provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment.
  • Provide instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies.
  • Comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Secondary Education or a related field.
  • Preferred qualifications include ABD or completed Doctorate, middle and/or high school teaching experience.
