Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Mathematics and Statistics Affiliate Instructor to join our team at Metropolitan State University of Denver. As an Affiliate Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching part-time, on a semester-by-semester basis, and will work closely with our faculty and staff to provide high-quality educational experiences for our students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach 1-9 hours of General Studies mathematics courses and/or small group learning sessions that accompany General Studies mathematics courses.
  • Work and interact with diverse groups of students and/or coordinate with faculty teaching lecture sections aligned with learning sessions.

As an Affiliate Faculty member, you will be expected to:

  • Deliver course content to students, prepare course materials and lesson plans, grade student work, and provide students with robust feedback in a timely manner.
  • Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
  • Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment.
  • Maintain office hours and comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or a closely related field. A Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or a closely related field and proficiency in teaching with technology, e.g., calculators and computer software, are preferred.
