Job Overview

SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Loan Review Manager, the incumbent will assist in the independent and objective assessment of the loan portfolio's quality, the sufficiency of loan documentation, and the efficiency of loan administration operations. This role involves effective communication of review outcomes, both verbally and in writing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

A comprehensive understanding of commercial and consumer lending, banking regulations, and compliance is necessary to assist in evaluating credit risk and monitoring adherence to loan policies and applicable laws.

Support the identification and evaluation of credit, legal, and strategic risks associated with lending activities.

Assess the collectability of credit extensions by reviewing customer financial data, collateral details, and payment histories. Assign appropriate risk grades to reflect the relative risk of default or loss and recommend corrective measures to resolve or manage problematic situations.

Evaluate the adequacy of loan and collateral documentation as well as the effectiveness of loan administration processes.

Review commercial credits of varying types and complexities.

Execute tasks related to the Loan Review function, including sample selection, review of workpapers completed by other Loan Review personnel, and preparation of reports that convey the findings of the unit review.

Lead exit discussions for unit reviews.

Provide guidance and support to Loan Review staff.

Participate in special projects, including due diligence tasks.

Operate under the direction of the Loan Review Department Manager.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

The banking sector is highly regulated, and it is expected that you will acquire and maintain proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures while adhering to all relevant laws and regulations. Completion of all assigned compliance training in a timely manner is also required.

A solid understanding of commercial lending, including collateral documentation, accepted practices, and financial analysis skills is essential.

A willingness to collaborate as part of a team is crucial.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary.

Ability to effectively utilize provided tools in the execution of job responsibilities.
