About the Role

As a Tax Accountant at IBM, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen, as you will be responsible for influencing key business decisions and supporting internal and external client-facing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support US and foreign tax accounting requirements, including specific requirements mandated by tax reforms.
  • Assist in managing tax balance sheet and related requirements.
  • Support the preparation of various footnotes for external filings.
  • Contribute to technology enhancement opportunities in the tax accounting process.
  • Assist in tax accounting implications of acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Support tax accounting technical research requirements.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of all new relevant tax accounting-related pronouncements.
Requirements
  • 4-5 years of tax accounting experience at a Big 4 accounting firm and/or a multinational corporation.
  • Good understanding of US GAAP and ASC740.
  • Working knowledge of US and foreign tax accounting requirements.
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP).
  • Familiarity with U.S. Tax reform legislation (TCJA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently on technical tax accounting matters in a timely fashion.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
