Job Summary:

Englewood Public School District is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a valid New Jersey educational services certificate with a Speech-Language Specialist endorsement and have at least three years of experience in the field. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to assess, treat, and provide strategies for the prevention and remediation of speech, language, and hearing disorders. Additionally, they will have knowledge and understanding of speech-language pathology, child growth and development, learning assessment and diagnosis, research related to learning, instructional strategies, and classroom management. The successful candidate will also demonstrate an understanding of current rules and regulations regarding Child Study Teams and special education assessment and program requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively in English, and have the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications.

Responsibilities:

* Assess and treat students with speech, language, and hearing disorders

* Develop and implement strategies for prevention and remediation of speech, language, and hearing disorders

* Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to provide support for students with special needs

* Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in speech-language pathology

* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

* Use electronic equipment to support instruction and communication

Requirements:

* Valid New Jersey educational services certificate with a Speech-Language Specialist endorsement

* At least three years of experience in the field

* Knowledge and understanding of speech-language pathology, child growth and development, learning assessment and diagnosis, research related to learning, instructional strategies, and classroom management

* Excellent interpersonal skills

* Ability to communicate effectively in English

* Ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications
