Job Description:

At Regions Financial Corporation, the Corporate Banking Credit Division Manager plays a pivotal role in leading a team of experienced Credit Officers responsible for evaluating the overall creditworthiness of loan transactions within the Corporate Banking Group. This includes commercial, corporate, real estate, and specialized banking loan approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team of Credit Officers in evaluating the creditworthiness of loan transactions, ensuring adherence to the company's risk appetite and sound risk management practices.
  • Manages the division's credit exposure, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the company's risk management policies.
  • Reports to the Corporate Chief Risk Officer, providing regular updates on the division's credit portfolio and risk management practices.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and internal resource for Corporate Banking Group lending transactions, providing guidance on credit policy and risk management.
  • Partners with multiple Corporate Banking Group lines of business to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity throughout the Credit/Underwriting process.
  • Leads a divisional credit team in evaluating the overall creditworthiness of traditional credit-based and structured banking transactions in assigned industry verticals.
  • Contributes to the development of credit policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with the company's risk management framework.
  • Serves as a trainer and mentor for new and junior Credit Officers, providing guidance on credit risk management and underwriting best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, accounting, or business administration.
  • At least 15 years of experience in credit risk management, with a strong background in commercial and corporate lending.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed credit decisions.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of Credit Officers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
