Certified Operating Room Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Surgery Technologist to join our team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room suite, including cleaning and sterilization of equipment.
- Participate in the care and cleaning of operating room equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Perform in a sterile field and assist the surgeon by providing instrumentation appropriate for the task.
- Provide care for the operative patient before, during, and after surgery, under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Prepare patients, equipment, and operating rooms for each procedure/surgery, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe operating room suite for surgical patients, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Perform intra-operative management of assigned procedures and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
- Assist the circulating nurse in maintaining correct instrument counts and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Be responsible for supply and equipment management, including determining needs, ensuring availability, and maintaining equipment through proper sterilization.
- Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited education program for Surgical Technology or an appropriate training program in the US Armed Forces or US Public Health Service.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Surgical Technologist certification from a recognized organization, such as the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
