Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Admitting Worker to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in our ambulatory clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
- Perform general clerical and reception duties, including data entry and verification of insurance and/or third-party coverage.
- Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments with accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare or administrative setting.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in office software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and insurance programs.
- Experience working with electronic health records and registration systems.
- Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese.
