Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Admitting Worker to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our ambulatory clinic team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients in the ambulatory clinics, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Perform general clerical and reception duties, including data entry and verification of insurance and/or third-party coverage.
  • Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments with precision and attention to detail.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or administrative setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese.
  • Experience working with medical terminology and insurance programs.
  • Knowledge of registration, scheduling, and authorization processes.
  • Experience working in a hospital or medical office setting.
