Job Summary:

As a key member of the Kaiser Permanente team, the Care Management Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, providing support and assistance to the manager, and leading distinct areas of focus within the department. This role will involve direct administrative authority, accountability to the department manager, and serving as a backup resource for staff in the manager's absence. The Care Management Manager will facilitate workflow within the department and with ancillary departments and outside services, ensuring the provision of high-quality, reputable, and cost-effective services while meeting regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Provide leadership and direction to the department, aligning with the organization's goals, objectives, and behavioral standards.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication among staff, providers, and other departments to ensure seamless linkages and the flow of information.
  • Clinical Oversight: Provide clinical oversight to staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure department compliance with regulatory requirements, maintain quality/service programs, and facilitate the quality plan developed by staff.
  • Staff Development and Education: Oversee the orientation and development of curriculum, define and communicate professional practice, and educate team members on financial implications of department operations.
  • Operational Management: Collaborate with other department leaders to develop the department budget, provide input and evaluation of processes, equipment, and make recommendations.
  • Customer Service: Facilitate and seek resolution of customer complaints, and improve processes or circumstances to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Travel and Representation: Represent the organization in a professional manner, working with outside vendors, agencies, and community partners.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing.
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience as an RN, with at least three (3) years of direct experience in hospital or healthcare services, and two (2) years of demonstrated knowledge in care management.
  • Credentials: Registered Nurse License (Washington) within three months of hire, Registered Nurse License (Oregon) within three months of hire, and Basic Life Support within 24 months of hire.
  • Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills, subject matter expertise in care management, effective program management, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of supervisory and management experience, with experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Education: Master's degree in nursing.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to determine key issues, develop action plans, lead professionals, and manage others through influence and collaboration.
