Position Overview

Role: The Family Financial Officer is responsible for delivering tailored financial services to our members, ensuring their needs are met in all aspects of member service and consumer lending.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine member service transactions, addressing requests, issues, and complaints while coordinating with other departments as necessary.
  • Manage account operations, including opening and closing accounts, issuing temporary checks, cashier's checks, bonds, and VISA debit cards.
  • Facilitate deposits, loan payments, and check orders, while assisting members with online account services and resolving online issues.
  • Process stop payments and check copy requests for share draft accounts.
  • Guide members in completing payroll deduction and direct deposit forms, establishing payroll distribution amounts.
  • Handle IRA transactions, including transfers and withdrawals, and respond to member inquiries.
  • Promote products and services that benefit members, ensuring they are informed of their eligibility.
  • Provide a welcoming experience by greeting members in the lobby and escorting them to the FFO office, as well as guiding them to the teller line for cash transactions.
  • Explain loan programs, assess member needs, and recommend suitable loan options, including credit life and disability, GAP, and extended warranty.
  • Perform duties as a consumer loan officer, which includes interviewing applicants, analyzing financial positions, and determining credit risk.
  • Prepare and verify loan documents for accuracy and completeness, establishing terms and conditions for approved loans.
  • Assist with collections for loans that are less than 45 days delinquent.
  • Authorize loans for other Loan Officers and Family Financial Officers within established lending limits.
  • Review the Courtesy Pay Report on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain NMLS Designation in accordance with Safe Act Policy and register with the State Commissioner of Insurance.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

  7. Adhere to all credit union policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Experience ranging from six months to two years in a similar or related role is preferred.

Education:

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Interpersonal Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with members and external contacts.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in operating a computer keyboard and ten-key calculator by touch is necessary.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.

Work Environment:

Engagement with members and colleagues is a key aspect of this role.
