Job Overview

Position: Family Financial Officer

Objective: To deliver tailored financial services to our members across all aspects of member engagement and consumer lending.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine member service transactions, including:
  • Addressing member inquiries, issues, and complaints, acting as a liaison with other departments as necessary to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Facilitating account openings and closures.
  • Issuing temporary checks, cashier's checks, bonds, and VISA debit cards.
  • Processing deposits, loan payments, and check orders.
  • Setting up online account services and assisting members with digital issues.
  • Managing stop payments and check copy requests on share draft accounts.
  • Guiding members in completing payroll deduction and direct deposit forms; establishing payroll distribution amounts.
  • Handling IRA transactions, including transfers, withdrawals, and member inquiries.
  • Promoting products and services beneficial to members and informing them of their eligibility.
  • Welcoming members in the lobby and escorting them to the Family Financial Officer office, ensuring a personal touch.
  • Explaining loan programs, assessing member needs, and recommending suitable loan options, including credit life and disability, GAP, and extended warranty.
  • Executing consumer loan officer duties, such as:
  • Interviewing applicants, analyzing financial situations, and assessing risks associated with credit extension.
  • Preparing and reviewing loan documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Establishing loan terms and conditions and discussing them with members.
  • Assisting collections for loans that are less than 45 days overdue.
  • Approving loans for other Loan Officers and Family Financial Officers within designated lending limits.
  • Reviewing the Courtesy Pay Report on a weekly basis.
  • Maintaining NMLS Designation as per Safe Act Policy.
  • Registering with the State Commissioner of Insurance.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

  4. Make informed credit decisions.

  6. Ensure consistent workflow with high accuracy.
  7. Adhere to all credit union policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Experience: Six months to two years in a similar or related role.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills are essential, involving personal contact with individuals both inside and outside the organization, typically regarding routine matters that may require discussion.

Technical Skills: Proficient in using a computer keyboard and ten-key calculator by touch.

Physical Requirements: As required for the role.

Work Environment: Standard office environment.
