Clinical Neurology Assistant Professor

Position Overview:
This role is centered on delivering specialized care for patients in need of Pain Management. The incumbent will oversee the daily clinical operations of the Pain Center and play a pivotal role in educating medical students and residents in this vital discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
I. Education (5%):
1. Deliver lectures, seminars, and clinical rounds for residents and students in their advanced years.
2. Engage in Neurology/Neurosurgery grand rounds.
3. Contribute to the didactic curriculum for neurology residents.
4. Provide bedside and clinical instruction on pain management to neurology and other medical trainees.
II. Clinical Service (85%):
1. Establish and uphold a professional practice in alignment with departmental policies and the healthcare practice plan.
2. Conduct outpatient clinics focused on pain management, addressing both new and established patients, including various interventional procedures.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop a comprehensive clinical program for pain management.
4. Foster clinical and research partnerships with faculty members across the Neuroscience Institute.
III. Administrative Duties (5%):
1. Attend scheduled meetings as part of the hospital staff.
2. Participate in university, departmental, and hospital committees as required.
3. Manage the Pain Center's daily operations, including oversight of advanced practice providers.
IV. Research Activities (5%):
1. Engage in clinical research, including multicenter therapeutic trials and self-initiated studies in pain management.
2. Collaborate on research initiatives with other clinical faculty members.
Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
2. Must hold a valid medical license in the State of Illinois with a focus on pain management.
3. Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology, Neurology, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is required.
