Job Summary

We're seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you'll provide design oversight for roadway, lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic signals, and traffic management system design plans. You'll assist in providing oversight of traffic control and sequencing plans throughout the construction phase of the project. You'll also serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity.

Responsibilities
  • Provide design oversight for the production of roadway, lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic signals, and traffic management system design plans.
  • Assist in providing oversight of traffic control and sequencing plans throughout the construction phase of the project.
  • Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity.
  • Organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
  • Serve as project manager on larger projects, though project management is not sole focus of position as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in ITS and traffic engineering for urban and rural highways, major and minor interchanges, and intersections.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Knowledge of regulations of state and federal transportation agencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic, and other software packages.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MSCE.
  • Diverse experience in related fields such as roadway design or construction.
