Job Summary

This position acts in a lead capacity among peers within a department in a technical discipline, short of a supervisor, but with responsibilities of some level of coordination and/or review. The Senior Staff Engineer will work in conjunction with other engineering disciplines and be responsible for system functions such as developing design/construction standards, ensuring quality of engineering deliverables, and participating in technical workforce development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct independent engineering work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Direct and mentor junior staff and oversee the engineering work on multiple projects; to include design package development, planning studies, reliability analysis, engineering standards development, and system operations.
  • Represent Entergy as a technical expert within Industry. Represents Business Unit in Standards discussions and/or utility practices as the industry evolves.
  • Work with consultants and equipment manufacturers and interface with departments on technical issues.
  • Leads the development of System/ BU level processes and procedures.
  • Change agent for achieving Business Unit objectives. Provide guidance and coaching to other departments on engineering matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline from a four-year accredited institution.
  • 8+ years experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred particularly for the Relay Settings Design focus area.
