Senior Technical Program Manager, Neuron Compiler
2 months ago
About the Role
The AWS Neuron Compiler team is on the lookout for a seasoned and driven Senior Technical Program Manager to enhance the efficiency and predictability of our LLM model enablement initiative. This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about machine learning, compilers, chip architecture, and software engineering.
Your Responsibilities
Your primary objective will be to empower software developers and leaders working on machine learning models utilizing Inferentia and Trainium chips, facilitating a more efficient planning, development, and deployment process for advanced machine learning models. You will collaborate closely with our engineering teams to comprehend their requirements and formulate a compelling vision and strategy aimed at refining requirement gathering, execution, and the dissemination of roadmaps and outcomes.
You will translate this vision into actionable plans articulated as clear, engaging narratives that resonate with leaders at all levels. Breaking down the plan into comprehensible tasks and deliverables will be essential, as you work alongside engineering leaders to prioritize and implement critical compiler functionalities, delivering them in conjunction with customers, inference, and training teams.
Key Attributes for Success
This position is hands-on and necessitates a blend of individual contributions and scaling through collaboration. To thrive in this role, you must exhibit a strong customer-centric approach, possess a solid understanding of low-level computer hardware and large language models, and quickly assimilate the needs of developers. You will be expected to innovate on behalf of our developers, generating new and inventive ideas that expedite the development and delivery of new models and their variants on current and future Trainium/Inferentia hardware.
Communication and Mentorship
Within Amazon, you will be recognized as an authority in your domain, responsible for effectively and reliably communicating project statuses to senior leaders and stakeholders. This role will also involve preparing monthly and weekly business reviews and contributing to strategic planning documents.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a robust operations background coupled with program management experience. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential. You should have familiarity with developer tools and software development processes, and the ability to excel in an entrepreneurial environment, navigating ambiguity and competing priorities. This includes anticipating bottlenecks, making trade-offs, and balancing business needs with technical constraints. Cross-team coordination, project management, and a willingness to learn and understand new technologies are critical.
Mentorship and Inclusion
We foster a culture of mentorship and support career progression among team members. Our commitment to inclusion is evident through our diverse employee-led affinity groups and innovative benefit offerings, promoting a culture that values diverse perspectives and continuous learning.
