Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Urban Planner to join our team at Gables Search Group in New Jersey.

Our client is a renowned Community Planning and Landscape Architecture firm committed to preserving and enhancing the visual and environmental character of the places and communities where they work.

Estimated Salary Range:$115,000 - $140,000 per yearJob Responsibilities
  • Gather, interpret, and analyze various data, and prepare reports and maps.
  • Manage and assist teams of co-workers on planning projects for local government clients in New Jersey.
  • Draft zoning ordinances, redevelopment analyses, and redevelopment plans.
  • Develop competitive proposals and project budgets.
  • Build and nurture client relationships.
  • Present reports to municipal officials and staff, and the general public.
  • Represent the firm at evening meetings.
  • Supervise and assist with training junior planners.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • NJ PP Licensure and AICP Certification.
  • Enthusiasm to improve the built environment and foster sustainability.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Experience with Affordable Housing is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Ability to manage projects and clients.
  • Solid oral communication and interpersonal skills to explain complicated information to the public.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
