We are seeking a skilled Transportation Systems Designer to join our team at Remington & Vernick Engineers. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing transportation systems, including roads, highways, and public transportation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design transportation systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors to determine design specifications
  • Estimate quantities and costs of materials, equipment, and labor to determine project feasibility
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, and other topographical data to identify engineering problems and assess potential project impact
  • Conduct studies of traffic patterns and environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess potential project impact
  • Prepare public reports on topics such as bid proposals, project status reports, and design criteria reports

Requirements:

  • Ability to make public presentations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions to present to design team members
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in groups as well as individually
  • CADD experience a plus

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

This position requires frequent and prolonged computer use. May occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in the field and may be exposed to outside weather conditions.
