Responsibilities- Operate the community van safely for daily outings and medical appointments, adhering to state and federal laws.
- Assist with the safe loading and unloading of residents, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Participate in daily outings, providing supervision and support to residents, and assisting with personal care as needed.
- Assist with planned activities and programs within the community, promoting a positive and engaging environment for residents.
- Ensure the van is in proper operational order, with up-to-date registration and insurance information, and report any safety or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain communication with the community through the use of a cell phone, keeping it charged and on during work hours.
- Report any observed or suspected resident change of condition to the supervisor immediately.
- Perform day-to-day clerical work connected with the position, including attending in-service classes and maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to driving requirements.
- High school education and a valid driver's license are required.
- Preferably, two years of experience driving a vehicle and working with elderly and dementia residents.
