Biomedical Equipment Technician Tier 2 Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of a limited scope of biomedical equipment.
  • Perform duties and established and recognized standards as adopted by the Association for Advancement of Medical Instrumentation.
  • Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the hospital.
  • Completion of a 2-year Associate degree, military training, or academic work aligned with AAMI's Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician, and a basic knowledge of mathematics, anatomy, physiology, biology, physics, chemistry, medical terminology, English, computer, and networking peripherals, and professional skills.

Requirements:

  • Must have 2-4 years of experience.
  • Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported.
  • Can provide comprehensive support of acuity equipment for direct patient care.
  • Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support (hospital, clinic, etc.).
  • Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported.
  • Can provide comprehensive support of acuity equipment for direct patient care.
  • Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support such as hospital, clinic, etc.
  • Has comprehensive experience in their assigned clinical environment.
  • Has a comprehensive understanding of both local and national public safety and regulatory issues.
  • Can assist less experienced technicians.
  • Demonstrates the ability to solve service line customer service problems.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of clinical equipment, radiological, laboratory, and network medical systems.

What We Offer:

  • Hourly pay: $20-$35.
  • Contract to possible hire position: 13 weeks with possible extension/hire.
