Primary Location


Location: Tampa, FL - Onsite

Schedule: Evenings - M-F 2:30pm -11:00pm

Hourly Pay: $20-$35

Contract to possible Hire position:13 weeks with possible extension /hire


Job Summary

  • Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
  • Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a limited scope of biomedical equipment.
  • Performs duties and established and recognized standards as adopted by the Association for Advancement of Medical Instrumentation.
  • Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of the hospital
  • Completion of a 2-year Associate degree, military training, or academic work aligned with AAMI’s Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician, and a basic knowledge of mathematics, anatomy, physiology, biology, physics, chemistry, medical terminology, English, computer and networking peripherals, and professional skills.


Specific Skills/Experience Biomedical Technician Tier 2


  • Must have 2-4 years of experience
  • Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported
  • Can provide comprehensive support of acuity equipment for direct patient care
  • Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support (hospital, clinic, etc.)
  • Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported.

  • Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support such as hospital, clinic, etc.
  • Has comprehensive experience in their assigned clinical environment.
  • Has a comprehensive understanding of both local and national public safety and regulatory issues.
  • Can assist less experiences technicians.
  • Demonstrates the ability to solve service line customer service problems.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of clinical equipment, radiological, laboratory and network medical systems.
