The Opportunity

We're seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide to join our community's care team. As a Medication Aide, you'll play a vital role in providing support for our residents with daily tasks, including administering medications, monitoring their condition, and reporting any changes.

What You'll Do

Provide Care

  • Deliver routine daily medications to residents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Record medication dosages and times, maintaining accurate records.
  • Observe residents and document any changes in their condition, reporting to the care team as needed.
  • Gather samples for analysis, following established protocols.
  • Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Uphold all health and safety standards, adhering to federal, state, and agency regulations.

Communicate

  • Coordinate with nurses to assist with resident care and medications, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Follow written or verbal instructions on managing medications, demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Respond to resident emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems, identifying their needs and providing support.
  • Protect confidential client information, promoting resident safety and welfare.
  • Seek guidance from the nurse as needed, demonstrating a commitment to safe and efficient care.

What You'll Bring

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or relevant qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in education.
  • Must be a certified medication aide, with a minimum of 1 year experience in the role.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating adaptability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective collaboration with the care team.
  • Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology, ensuring accurate and informed care.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification desired, demonstrating a commitment to resident safety.
  • Previous experience in long-term care preferred, highlighting a passion for working with seniors.

Engagement

  • Strong emotional intelligence and listening skills, essential for building trust with residents and colleagues.
  • Dedication to the medical field, particularly in working with the elderly, demonstrating a commitment to making a difference.
  • Must pass State and company background checks and drug test, ensuring a safe and trustworthy environment.
