Job Summary

The Medical Assistant/Patient Services Specialist is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain vital signs and collect lab specimens with precision and accuracy
  • Ensure proper completion of laboratory paperwork and maintain accurate patient records
  • Recognize and register patients upon arrival, verifying demographics and insurance information
  • Collect co-pays and account balances, and perform eligibility checks
  • Maintain provider schedules, ensuring timely and efficient appointment management
  • Answer multi-line phone system, directing calls to appropriate parties and handling triage calls with professionalism
  • Schedule appointments, accurately and efficiently, for multiple offices
  • Handle medical records release and/or request, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
  • Perform TMS and Spravato treatments under the supervision of the Medical Director
  • Return patient calls, relay messages to patients under the direction of providers, and send out follow-up reminder notices
  • Monitor supplies used in the front office, notifying the supervisor when inventory runs low
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all services offered to patients, explaining office policies as needed
  • Ensure a clean and orderly reception/waiting room, entryway to office, and work area
  • Post over-the-counter payments and process bank cards, reconciling daily activity reports and batch day sheets
  • Shred patient information to comply with HIPAA regulations, following OSHA rules and regulations, and maintaining front office quality assurance
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical office MA experience
  • Applicants who frequently call in sick and/or are late are strongly discouraged from applying
  • Must be comfortable with direct patient care and able to perform complex tasks with exacting precision
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player, with tactfulness and a pleasant phone manner
  • Must be a self-starter and dependable, able to prioritize workload while remaining flexible
  • Confident positive manner and appearance, with customer service experience and top-notch computer skills
Salary

$18-$19 per hour
