Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Maintenance: Ensure a consistent supply of stock, with full traceability from the point of receipt.
  • Documentation Management: Establish and uphold backup systems for all receiving documentation.
  • Material Handling: Responsible for the labeling, tagging, and proper disposition of all materials designated for storage.
  • Inventory Analysis: Review inventory reports and order trends to pinpoint shortages or overstock situations.
  • Reporting: Generate receiving reports for purchasing and project management teams.
  • Vendor Relations: Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Record Keeping: Keep precise daily logs of received goods and dispatched shipments, reporting them to relevant departments.
  • System Management: Oversee and maintain the customer inventory system, facilitating necessary upgrades to databases and software under the guidance of the purchasing or materials manager.
  • Auditing: Conduct regular spot checks and partial audits of physical inventory.
  • Physical Inventory Support: Assist with annual physical inventory audits.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate forklift trucks as required.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in inventory control within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly with warehouse personnel, purchasing departments, and external vendors.
  • Fundamental understanding of inventory control methodologies.
  • Ability to foster professional relationships with external suppliers.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Experience with computerized inventory management systems is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
  • Forklift operator certification is required.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to remain seated at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
