Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Management Specialist to join our team at Akima. As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will be responsible for providing on-site support at NSWC Dahlgren - Dam Neck Activity (DNA) in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-time on-site property management support, including tagging and recording general equipment line items in N-ERP, conducting general equipment physical inventories, and maintaining subsidiary accounts for Assets Under Development, Fixed Assets, and Accumulated Depreciation in Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP).
  • Interface directly with NSWCDD Technical Departments, local government POCs, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), NSWCDD Inventory Specialists, and Procurement Analysts.
  • Update standard operating procedures and process guides as needed.
  • Provide accurate and reliable metrics data that affect financial and operational reporting for Leadership.
  • Complete daily N-ERP transactions accurately to ensure new assets are recorded within the required timeline.
  • Support Property Management meetings as needed.
  • Attend local training and knowledge transfer (KT) sessions.

Requirements:

  • Must hold and maintain a DoD-issued Secret security clearance.
  • Associate's degree or three (3) years or more of work experience.
  • Experience with inventory management, procurement, or purchasing.
  • Working experience utilizing N-ERP for inventory control.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple online databases to resolve issues and respond to customer requests.
  • Must be a detail-oriented and customer-focused team member.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three years of related experience in inventory management.
  • Knowledge and experience with the N-ERP tool.
  • Experience with creating Unique Material Master (UMM) records in N-ERP.
