Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical Unit as a Weekender Flex RN. This role requires working two 12-hour shifts per weekend and one 12-hour shift during the week, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care and ensuring discharge readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients on the Medical-Surgical Unit, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient information.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care and address concerns.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, including arranging for necessary services and equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience, with consideration given to military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
