Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our 5th Floor Medical-Surgical Unit. As a Weekender Flex RN, you will work two 12-hour shifts per weekend and one 12-hour shift during the week, providing perioperative and postoperative care to medical-surgical and orthopaedic patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including implementing, monitoring, evaluating, updating, and revising patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions, administering prescribed medications and treatments as needed.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs, educating patients and their families on post-discharge care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience, with consideration given to military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
