Job Title: Assistant General Counsel

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in protecting the interests of the LVCVA and furthering its mission to attract leisure and business travelers to the Las Vegas destination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review, negotiate, and approve as to form all terms and conditions of contracts, including sponsorship agreements, advertising contracts, and event contracts.
  • Process personal injury claims related to the Las Vegas Convention Center, including submitting claims to the LVCVA's general liability insurer and assessing possible indemnification opportunities.
  • Consult with the business sales team regarding terms and conditions of show leases within the Las Vegas Convention Center and negotiate and approve as to form all show leases.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the General Counsel.
Requirements:
  • Nevada State Bar membership with no disciplinary actions.
  • Knowledge, interpretation, and application of various Federal, State, and local law principles and practices.
  • Ability to manage complex projects independently.
  • Ability to review and compile documents for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
  • Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills providing the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to support and respect the various cultural and ethnic values, behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes of a diverse workplace.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
