Position Overview:

We're seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Billing Specialist to join our dental team, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring seamless and efficient insurance billing processes.

In this role, you'll train our front office staff in areas like scheduling, insurance verification, preauthorization, and payment arrangements, empowering them to handle these tasks with precision and enhance patient satisfaction.

Your guidance will also help streamline the experience from start to finish, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Patient Care Leader in managing the day-to-day activities of the Patient Experience Specialist and the Dental Patient Access Specialist.

Coordinate with the Customer Service Coordinator to manage patient concerns, billing, insurance questions, and scheduling conflicts.

Ensure accurate billing, timely submission of electronic and/or paper claims, monitoring claims status, documenting related account activities, posting adjustments, and collections of insurance payers.

Write appeals, research rejections and denials of claims, and process initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications.

Collaborate with insurance companies to process claims in a timely manner and coordinate treatment data collection, including consent forms, policy forms, and post-care forms.

Reconcile daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports and assist the Patient Care Leader in training faculty, staff, and students on scheduling to achieve utilization goals.


Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED, 2-5 years' experience in a dental/medical office, or any combination of education, experience, and training.

Experience working in a large group practice setting utilizing a team-based philosophy of care and the ability to manage a large volume of patients is preferred.
