Job Summary

Merrick Bank is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Specialist I to join our team. As a Specialist I, you will be responsible for tracking insurance and warranties on open accounts, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scans, renames, and files all customer account related documentation into customer folders.
  • Researches and updates insurance policies on open loans and documents insurance in the system of record and on tracking spreadsheets.
  • Pulls faxes from the queue, opens insurance mail/emails, and organizes all for data entry.
  • Reviews the previous day's boarding report for new customer warranties purchased through dealers and logs them onto the warranty tracking sheet.
  • Researches and updates warranty information on open loans and makes appropriate updates in the system of record and on the tracking spreadsheet.
  • Contacts dealerships or financial institutions to verify warranties and ensure funds were paid to the warranty company.
  • Supports level II and Sr. Specialists as assigned by leadership.
  • Fulfills other tasks and functions as assigned by leadership.
  • Receives and sorts through daily mail and distributes to the appropriate teams to be worked.
  • Sorts through returned mail and determines how it should be addressed.
  • Scans documents and sends/emails to appropriate team members.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • One year of work experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of insurance and warranty operations.
  • Knowledge of federal and state collection, banking, lending, and bankruptcy laws and regulations for the non-prime credit segment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and database software.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level of accountability and accuracy.
