MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in assisting pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients, including selecting, labeling, and packaging pharmaceuticals.
  • Enter physician orders into the hospital computer system to update patient profiles and charges.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of medications and supplies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of patient care areas to ensure compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and compound medications, including large volume parenterals and mini bags, using aseptic techniques.
  • Deliver and retrieve medications and supplies to patient care areas and satellite pharmacies.
  • Participate in the orientation of new Pharmacy Technicians to department operations and the computer system.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Eighteen months of hospital experience required.
  • DC DOH - Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
  • PTCB - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or equivalent national certification within 180 Days required.
Compensation

This position has a hiring range of $31.852.
