Position Overview

Responsibilities of the DSQR:
  • Assemble customer source inspection documentation
  • Analyze purchase orders and quality specifications
  • Ensure adherence to customer and internal standards
  • Conduct lot-by-lot release for shipments
  • Validate processing methods and compile necessary documentation
  • Perform dimensional inspections and verifications
  • Collaborate with source inspection teams on problem resolution
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Complete relevant documentation and maintain records
  • Assist with DSQR, Etch out, Certification, Material, Shipping, and Inventory tasks
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned
Responsibilities of the Metallographer:
  • Prepare metallurgical mounts through grinding, cutting, polishing, and etching processes
  • Adhere to drawings and specifications for testing requirements
  • Conduct metallurgical examinations and assessments
  • Possess knowledge of microstructures of Ni, Ti, and Fe
  • Follow environmental and chemical safety protocols
  • Assist in metallurgical analysis and data collection
  • Utilize Microsoft tools proficiently
  • Exhibit adaptability and strong organizational capabilities
  • Maintain professionalism and effective communication
Working Environment
  • Exposure to both indoor and outdoor manufacturing settings
  • Moderate noise levels
  • Various working conditions including confined spaces, dust, fumes, and temperature fluctuations
  • Continuous standing on concrete and operation of machinery
Qualifications & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical associate degree preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of quality inspection experience, preferably within the aerospace sector
  • 3-4 years of metallography experience preferred
  • Familiarity with metallography equipment and methodologies
  • Proficiency in shop mathematics, blueprints, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Certifications in SAE DPRV and customer grain size evaluation preferred
  • Willingness to learn and accept additional responsibilities
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly
  • Stamina for standing, walking, bending, and climbing
  • Comfort working in diverse physical conditions and around machinery
  • Manual dexterity for handling materials and equipment
