We are seeking an exceptional Executive Director to lead the Humanities Initiative at Princeton University. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of humanities research, education, and outreach at one of the world's premier institutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Humanities Initiative, including strategic planning, budget management, and personnel supervision.
  • Develop and implement innovative programs, events, and initiatives that showcase the humanities at Princeton and beyond.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to advance the humanities and foster public engagement.
  • Manage budgets, grants, and fundraising efforts to support the Humanities Initiative.
  • Represent the Humanities Initiative at university-wide events and meetings.
Requirements
  • PhD in a humanities field or related area, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of leadership, management, and strategic planning in higher education or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-disciplinary environment and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and creativity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a humanities field.
  • Experience leading strategic planning efforts in higher education or a related field.
  • Background in program building and project management.
  • Strategic marketing and/or brand management experience.
  • Public humanities experience.
