About this role

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Program Specialist III to join our team at the Columbus Consolidated Government.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing and supervising the day-to-day operations of an assigned recreation facility or program, including scheduling, budgeting, and personnel management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise the daily operations of an assigned recreation facility or program, including planning, organizing, and evaluating activities.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective program delivery.
  • Market facilities and programs through special events, educational materials, and public presentations.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff members to ensure quality programming and services.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote community engagement and partnerships.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in recreation program management, preferably in a local government setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage budgets and resources.
