The COMET contract oversees the comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at a prominent space center. These responsibilities will support various programs, including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.

The chosen candidate will engage in the daily functions of the Ground Support Technical Operations (GSTO) team, contributing to a significant space exploration initiative. The role involves supporting Launch Vehicle Processing, Testing, and Validation of both flight and ground systems.

As an Operational Technician, you will assist in Launch Vehicle Processing, Testing, and Validation of flight hardware and related ground systems. You will also interpret engineering drawings and adhere to strict safety protocols; candidates must pass a physical examination and maintain a security clearance; availability for shift work, weekends, and reasonable overtime is required.

Qualifications:

This position may be filled at various levels based on the candidate's experience and organizational needs.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with one year of relevant experience or equivalent technical training.

A background in mechanical and/or electrical fields, particularly in aviation or aerospace, is highly advantageous.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to follow work instructions, interpret engineering drawings, and comply with stringent safety protocols.

Strong communication skills are essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.

Must be able to pass a physical examination and maintain a security clearance.

Availability for shift work, weekends, and reasonable overtime is necessary.

Essential Functions:

Physical Requirements:

Equipment and Machines:

  • Utilize computer systems and peripherals to manage logs, records, and documentation.

Attendance:

  • Standard work assignments are typically 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week.
  • Dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
