Clinical Scholar in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine

Position Overview:
The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a dedicated faculty member for the role of Clinical Scholar in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. This position is available at the Assistant/Associate Professor level and is designed for individuals who are passionate about clinical practice, medical education, and research.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will join a collaborative team within the Interventional Pulmonary (IP) Section, which includes a nurse practitioner and nursing staff. Responsibilities will include performing advanced procedures such as rigid bronchoscopies, robotic bronchoscopy, and pleuroscopy, utilizing various therapeutic modalities. Faculty members will also participate in the Interventional Pulmonary Clinic, Lung Multidisciplinary Clinic, and the Complex Thoracic Disease Clinic, working closely with Thoracic Surgery.
Research Opportunities:
Academic research is highly encouraged, with opportunities available for involvement in industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated trials, quality and implementation science, and translational research. The candidate will have access to resources within the IP section, the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine division, and the Vermont Lung Center, fostering a rich environment for scholarly activities.
Educational Contributions:
As part of the educational mission of the University of Vermont Health Network, the faculty member will be expected to contribute to the training of medical students and residents. Opportunities for professional development in education are available through the Teaching Academy.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Interventional Pulmonology.
