Reports To: Security Manager

Position Summary:

As a Security Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to uphold the safety and security of individuals, properties, and assets across various facilities, including event centers and corporate buildings. You will implement security protocols, oversee surveillance systems, and respond effectively to security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

Surveillance and Monitoring:

  • Utilize surveillance technology to observe designated areas.
  • Remain alert for suspicious behavior or security violations.
  • Conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety of the premises.

Access Management:

  • Control access points to ensure entry is limited to authorized personnel.
  • Verify identification of staff, visitors, and vendors.

Emergency Response:

  • React swiftly to emergencies, including fire, medical situations, or security threats.
  • Adhere to established protocols for crisis management.
  • Coordinate with emergency services as required.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
  • Prepare detailed reports on security breaches or disturbances.

Customer Interaction:

  • Assist and guide visitors, customers, and employees as necessary.
  • Serve as a point of contact for inquiries and directions.

Implementation of Security Protocols:

  • Enforce security measures and guidelines set for various locations.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of security procedures.

Collaboration:

  • Work in conjunction with other security personnel and departments to foster a unified security atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Security Guard card is mandatory.
  • Ability to provide a clean 39-month Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Demonstrated experience in security roles or relevant training (security certification, law enforcement background, etc.).
  • Familiarity with surveillance systems and security operations.
  • Capability to remain composed and make quick, rational decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • First aid/CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in security software and technology.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; basic knowledge of project management software.

Language Proficiency: Ability to read and understand simple to complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Capable of responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers and other stakeholders.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and apply concepts like fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Work Environment: The work environment is representative of those encountered while performing essential job functions. Duties will be performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, in various weather conditions.

  • Regular evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are part of this role.
  • Occasional local travel may be required.

Physical Requirements: While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Occasional bending, climbing, lifting, and carrying may be necessary.
