Responsibilities

In the role of Safety and Security Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the safety and security of our facilities. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting regular patrols of the premises, both on foot and by vehicle.
  • Monitoring access points to ensure secure entry and exit.
  • Utilizing surveillance technology to detect and address potential security threats.
  • Responding promptly to emergency situations and codes.
  • Maintaining a thorough inspection and maintenance program for all security systems.
  • Documenting any security breaches and coordinating responses to critical incidents.
  • Providing training and orientation to new security staff.
  • Assisting in the management of visitor access to secure areas.
  • Ensuring safety protocols are followed in high-traffic areas, including the Emergency Department.
  • Offering security for helipad and landing zones.

We also provide an Education Benefit program for eligible employees, offering financial assistance for educational goals.


Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Six months of experience in a security role with significant public interaction.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid State Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • American Heart Association-issued BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
Preferred:
  • One year of experience in a security position with extensive public contact.
  • Completion of college-level courses in Criminal Justice.
  • Certification from the International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) Basic course within 90 days of employment and IAHSS Advanced course within six months.
