Job Description

In the rapidly evolving landscape of semiconductor technology, Intel is seeking a highly skilled Pre-Silicon Verification Engineer Lead to join our Altera - Platform Solutions Group (PSG). This role is a critical part of our standalone business strategy, focusing on the development of cutting-edge verification solutions for our microcontrollers and system-on-chip (SoC) designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive verification strategies for complex digital designs, ensuring high-quality silicon tape-out and tape-in.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand chip architecture and plan verification tasks for the entire Design Verification (DV) team.
  • Design and architect testbench infrastructure, including monitors, scoreboards, checkers, and bus functional models (BFMs), to enable efficient verification execution.
  • Work closely with design and architecture teams to ensure alignment on feature scoping, staging, and verification coverage.
  • Develop and integrate verification environment components using UVM/System Verilog, ensuring seamless integration with design flows.
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement of IP/SOC quality, focusing on functional coverage, code coverage, and System Verilog assertions.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to the team, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of total experience, with a strong background in ASIC verification, microcontroller-based IP verification, and System Verilog/OVM/UVM.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, TCL, Shell) and debugging tools.
  • Strong understanding of verification methodologies, including testbench architecture and verification flow management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 3rd-party verification IPs, Serdes, PCIe, and USB.
  • Knowledge of formal verification tools and technologies, including model checking and equivalence checking algorithms.
  • Experience with FPGA-based architecture designs and verification.
