Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM
Compensation:
This role is classified as grade 7, with a starting hourly wage of $15.43. The final pay rate will be determined based on qualifications and experience, in accordance with the college's compensation framework and any applicable agreements.
Job Overview:
The Custodian I is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the campus. This includes assisting with projects related to new construction and renovations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of prior custodial experience.
- Ability to understand and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and maintenance manuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct custodial duties across various campus facilities, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors; maintaining restrooms; emptying waste bins; vacuuming carpets; and cleaning windows.
- Utilize custodial machinery such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and snow removal equipment.
- Perform cleaning of light fixtures and lenses as needed.
- Support the grounds team with snow removal and manage waste disposal around the campus exterior.
- Provide custodial support during facility events as required.
- Assist with specialized cleaning and relocation tasks related to renovations and new construction projects.
- Handle biohazard waste when necessary, following appropriate health and safety protocols.
- Secure and unlock buildings and classrooms according to the college's event schedule.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Medium lifting (up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, or 10 lbs constantly).
Work Environment:
Moderate noise levels, typical office or administrative settings, outdoor conditions, and exposure to varying temperatures.
